charger port tip broke off in iphone xs

nothing, just happened, probably from over use of a charger. Apparently overtime the tip of my charger for my iphone xs or iphone 5 on up will break off. Before that I didn't know why my brand new iphone xs couldn't fit my lightening charger at work like it usually does, called Apple and they were in process of sending me a replacement phone for 29 dollars or 1349.00 if they don't receive the phone that needs repair or the new phone it self. I used a paperclip bent into a slight hook and pulled the tip out myself and tried calling apple to cancel the repair minutes later. The replacement phone was already processed and is going on a trip over this way and I just need to send it back, and if it doesn't make it back i guess i've just lost 29 dollars or 1349.00 possibly. Turning on find my iphone back on my device I self repaired. lol.
