Verizon free offer is ending - would like to go to Apple without losing music

I have been using Apple Music through Verizon for the last six months and this free offer is ending. I would like to begin using Apple Music through Apple now but I don't want to lose any of the music I've accumulated during the last six months. Is that possible? Thanks in advance.

Hello russfromfairhill,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

I understand from your post that you have been using Apple Music through an offer from Verizon and want to continue using it once the promotion period ends but want your subscription through Apple. Ending your subscription through Verizon and starting a new subscription may remove your music and have you download it again. You can keep your current subscription through Verizon without losing your music. This is from the Verizon website:

https://www.verizonwireless.com/solutions-and-services/apple-music/

"Apple Music is now included on smartphone lines with Beyond Unlimited or Above Unlimited. Customers with smartphone lines on Go Unlimited or The Verizon Plan Unlimited get Apple Music free for 6 months, then $9.99/mo after. Taxes apply."

Best Regards.

Thanks so much for your response. The reason that I think I want to go back to Apple is that I enjoyed the trial very much and I am considering upgrading to the family sharing plan and I don't believe that I can do that through Verizon without paying for two individual subscriptions. Therefore, I'm thinking that it may be cheaper through Apple.

I did read that when the Verizon offer was first made, current Apple Music subscribers were told that they could take advantage of the free offer by cancelling their Apple subscription first and then signing up for Verizon's free offer. Further, they were told they would not lose any of their library of music. I'm not sure if it works the other way, though.

So, I'm still wondering what happens if I cancel Verizon's plan and subscribe to Apple Music through Apple, will I lose any of my library?
