I made mistakes while entering the title for a few photos (top line where you can type a name to display instead of the file name) - some typos and some where the person is given the wrong name- and I can't figure out how to go back and delete or edit the incorrect file name I put in. Is it possible to do or will I have to live with the bad titles forever?
What version of Photos and system are you running?
With Photos 4 the file name is shown below the thumbnail as long as you have Titles selected in the View ➙ Metadata menu option:
You can double click on the Title field in the Info pane for that photo and edit it as you would any text:
Or click on the incorrect title below the thumbnail and edit it there:

Highlight the title and type in the correction. You can do this in the Get Info box as well as the title beneath the photo.

You can change the title of a photo, but it will not change the filename. To chang ethe filename you have to export the photo, delete it from Photos, change the filename in the Finder, then reimport the modified photo.
