Can VIP mails in app Mail get classified per person?

i’m wondering if it is possible to get the VIP mails (in the app Mail) classified per VIP person.

When i open the VIP mailbox, that i can choose a VIP person to see his or her mails.

In the current situation, when i open the VIP mailbox, the mails of all the VIP persons are mixed up.

Very confusing.

iPad, iOS 12

Hello,

You may want to explore Smart Mailboxes. While at this time you cannot create a custom smart mailbox on the iPad you can create them on a Macintosh which will synchronize to the iPad.

Do you have access to a Mac running the latest system software? If so then please follow the instructions on the following Apple support document. All you will need to do is setup your email account on both your Mac and iPad.

Use Smart Mailboxes in Mail on Mac

When creating a Smart Mailbox you would set the criteria to the specific contact. Once the Smart Mailbox is created it’ll show up in Mail’s sidebar on your iPad. This way whenever you open Mail, all the emails from your specified contact is just a tap away.

I hope this helps!

Hello,

Just so I am on the same page as you, when you open the VIP section in Mail you wish to only view messages from a specified person instead of viewing all of the received messages from all of your VIP contacts?

The best way to go about this would be to open the VIP section in Mail. Once you are there slide down a little to reveal the search box. Tap on the search box and type in the name of the contact you wish to specify. Once you do some new buttons will appear. Tap on “Current Mailbox” and the Mail app will now only display messages from the specified contact in the VIP mailbox.

I hope this helps!

That is a pity! At the very least you can filter down a specified contact in the search box. It’s possible you may be able to use Apple Shortcuts to build a shortcut that does this for you. I was playing around with Shortcuts on my iPad just now and it seems like you might be able to make something that works for you. A great feature of Shortcuts is once you create your shortcut, you can save it to the Home Screen for easy access.

Use Siri Shortcuts
