How do you read a disk with medical records on a MacBook Air with the USB SuperDrive?
Are these CAT or MRI scans? If so then you can use the free OsiriX Lite application.
It takes jumping thru some hoops to get the free version but once obtained you can view MRIs and CAT scans.
I do it by attaching my regular (not Apple but it probably does not make a difference) optical drive to my computer, turning it on and inserting the disc which then appears on the desktop. After that it's a matter of having the correct software for opening the file.
So, as you can see, if you are having problems you'll have to tell us about the exact problem you are having since it isn't clear where this is breaking down for you.
