Strange Incoming Call

My niece just got a call on her phone from a number that is unknown to her. The weird thing is that it came in with a name, as if the name was in her directory, but the name is not. How is this possible?

Being hacked or not Hi,i had a call that was stored at my phone in the name of my father and i answered but was somenone else!!and when i paid attention to the number it was something new and i have never saw that he was strange but i dont know how it is stored at my contacts and had name of my father??? is that possible that my phone has been hacked?im so frightend.could you please help me ?

Spam call with Caller ID being spoofed. That is the way things are going lately. Best to ignore a call that one does not recognize the number or name for. That way, the spammer does not realize the call is a good number. If it is a legit call, they will leave a message.
