Set bluetooth devices to connect manually

I would like some of my paired devices not to connect automatically when in range. Is it even possible?

BLUETOOTH IPHONE & IMAC Amazing bit of trivia: Although the iPhone and iMac or MacBook both appear under bluetooth settings on both devices. (Even getting a pair number on initial attempt)... The iPhone does not pair with iMac. Showing not connected. Thus Apple should fix this minor issue or at least tell their customer support that the two devices do not pair... Apparently Apple stopped this way back in 2017 but never changed it or fixed it so that pairing doesn't exist... (really even 10 support people didn't know this minor fact) after spending countless hours trying to figure it out.

Bluetooth connections I have 4 devices on my bluetooth list 2 which are permanently connected. Is there a way to prioritise the connection of one device over the other? Using iPhone 12 with the latest iOS. Thanks

They won't pair if the BT enabled device is turned off or (in most cases) paired to another device. Other than that, the only thing to do would be to unpair the device.
