iCloud Music Library, Loved Tracks, and Smart Playlists

I have a huge library of music I own. I just signed up for Apple Music and turned on iCloud Music Library syncing. All the tracks I’ve marked as “loved” have seemingly lost their rating. I have a smart playlist to show loved tracks and am seeing an empty playlist on both my devices (Mac and iPhone).

My other smart playlists are not afffected—it’s only and issue with playlists containing loved songs.

Any ideas? Thankfully I have a backup of everything but would really like to use iCloud Music Library without encountering issues with rating songs.

thanks!

I understand that it isn't the same as track rating. But both are stored as keys in the iTunes Library.xml file and should be treated the same when uploading to iCloud. Also, you can create smart playlists of loved tracks which is pretty common for people who don't want to determine how many stars to give a track. I just want to see what I like.

I exported my favorite tracks playlists to XML and re-added all the hearts. Frustrating and time consuming but works and syncs across my devices.
