iPad autocorrect is not replacing/deleting wrong spelling

The autocorrect/spelling on my iPad is not replacing/deleting incorrect words. Ie, if I type cate instead of cat autocorrect replaces like this: cate cat (the incorrect word ‘cate’ is still there AND the correctly spelt word ‘cat’). This is particularly noticeable on Facebook. Anyone know of a fix? Thanks.

Hello,

Lets try this, toggle Auto-Correct off in Settings -> General -> Keyboard. Then restart your iPad by holding the Sleep/Wake button until “Slide to power off..” appears. Whenever the device shuts off press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears. Once your device turns back on re-enable Auto-Correct in Settings -> General -> Keyboard.
