Activity Monitor shows _fpsd user

Is _fpsd user safe? Some data refers fpsd user is on only when someone is connected.

As far as I can tell...


fpsd seems to be a demon that is part of Apple’s CoreFP subsystem, which apparently implements Apple’s FairPlay Digital Rights Management (DRM), which I believe is used for iTunes video (both streaming and downloads) and Apple Music (both streaming and downloads, presumably.)

LOL, never noticed, both are on my Mac too.


Clicking on Statistics there, then Sample in the next window, I get lots of...

So it is to do with Floating Point operations.
