the phone is working but the screen has blanked out

Try a forced restart-->If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't turn on or is frozen - Apple Support


If that doesn't resolve the problem make a genius bar appointment to have the phone checked out-->Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple
