Mojave upgrade on MacBookPro

It seems that since I've upgraded to Mojave on my MacBookPro my internet access has become much slower ... and I have fibre-optic service to my house. More interruptions watching YouTube programs, Netflix, slower downloads of visual content. Is there a tweak, something new with Mojave (like having to permit the use of microphone in Logic Pro in order to hear/ record audio) which will improve internet access? Pretty frustrating ...

Ha! when I just now tried posting this I received this alert ...

The instructions are correct for macOS Mojave.

Don't remove Default Browser.plugin, nslQTScriptablePlugin.xpt, Quartz Composer.webplugin, or QuickTime Plugin.plugin.
I appear to be missing the Default Browser.plugin and the Quartz Composer.webplugin while the nslQTScriptablePlugin.xpt and QuickTime Plugin.plugin are located in a folder labeled Disabled Plug-ins.

That means if they are present, don't remove them. It is not meant to imply they should be present and are missing. Files within the Disabled Plug-ins folder are not active and don't do anything. You can trash that entire folder if you wish.

Here are a few fundamental troubleshooting steps that may help. Some of the information will be redundant but review everything to determine if there is something you may have overlooked.

If you don't get anywhere, you can use the following procedure to determine if the problem is internal or external to your Mac. Causes may involve your router, your ISP, the DNS Server(s) it uses, or certain user-configurable options.

  1. Shut down your Mac.
  2. Load macOS Recovery by holding and r (two fingers) while you start your Mac with a third finger.
  3. At the macOS Utilities screen, release those two fingers.
  4. Choose Get Help Online.
  5. Safari will launch, but it will lack your bookmarks, favorites, history and other preferences.

Determine if the problem persists while using Safari in that mode. After that, restart your Mac normally, and reply with your observations.

Was following instructions on removing plug-ins and add-ons... per the Apple website under

If Safari is slow, stops responding, quits unexpectedly, or has other issues...

Go to /Library folder and find several files one of which "Internet Plug-ins" and am instructed to trash all files and:

Don't remove Default Browser.plugin, nslQTScriptablePlugin.xpt, Quartz Composer.webplugin, or QuickTime Plugin.plugin.

I appear to be missing the Default Browser.plugin and the Quartz Composer.webplugin while the nslQTScriptablePlugin.xpt and QuickTime Plugin.plugin are located in a folder labeled Disabled Plug-ins.

Are these instructions current for Mojave iOS? ... or do I have a problem?

Thanks for your help.
