Canon Pixma MG3520 Printer on Mojave

Hi, I have a "new to me" iMac and in setting it up, I had to update the os to the most recent version (Mojave 10.14.5). I am now trying to add my printer to the computer and am having trouble. I have downloaded both Mojave 10.14 drivers from the Canon website and still my computer doesn't recognize the printer. The printer is plugged in and turned on and nothing seems to be working. It worked on OS High Sierra on a previous computer, so I think the issue is the Mojave OS. Anyone know how to get this printer added and working on the new OS? I would prefer to not have to go buy another new printer.

You need to do more than just download the drivers from the Canon site. You also need to install them via their individual installer package from your Downloads folder. Then, ensure that the printer is powered on, connected to your Mac (either via the network, or USB), and reboot the Mac.

Revisit the Printers & Scanners preference panel. If there is no printer appearing in the panel, then click the + button, and choose USB or IP (if networked). Follow the Canon documentation steps for Mac printer configuration and choose the appropriate MG3520 driver when a list of drivers is presented. When done, right-click on the printer in the Printers & Scanners panel and make it your default printer.

When I go to Printers & Scanners nothing is even showing up in the list. I've downloaded and installed the 2 drivers from the Canon website that say they're for the OS Mojave, but nothing is showing up. It's like the printer doesn't even exist!

I said I downloaded & installed them. I'm pretty tech savvy, I've done all of the above. The Mac can't find the printer on the network. I found that the buttons on the printer are not responding. The power light turns on when plugged in, but I can't turn it off and the WIFI light won't turn on at all (this printer is AirPrint compatible). My next step is to contact Canon, but I can't do that until Monday when their tech support department is open.
