Widgets Not Working

The Dictionary widget and Weather widget no longer work on my dashboard. Specifically, the Dictionary Widget only slightly moves after typing in a word for a definition or a synonym and doesn't give anything. The weather widget provides no weather data and doesn't allow for town customization.

Did Apple eliminate Widget functionality? If not, how can I get them to work again?

My iMac is using High Sierra OS vs. 10.13.6. I have the Dashboard open on a separate desktop so I can slide easily between desktops for research and writing.

iMac 27" 5K, macOS 10.13

Apple is dumping Dashboard, but it seems to work in 10.13.6 here.

To find out if it's system wide or user specific, try this...

Open System Preferences>Users & Groups, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.

Does it work in the new account?

FWIW, the Dictionary widget is also still working in Mojave. The Weather widget, not so much.

I agree. Plus when I tried it, it indicated it was going to be sunny when we had thunderstorms. Not that it matters, I only open the Dashboard when users say something isn't working.

That didn't help but thanks for the suggestion. I'll just open everything on another desktop and swipe between desktops instead of using dashboard / mission control
