If my phone has a crack can I still trade it in?
iPhone 6s Plus, iOS 12
I’ve checked for my model (iPhone 7) through the US trade in page. It says $140 if everything is working and the screen is intact, but only offers to recycle for no credit if I enter that there’s screen damage. Same for an iPhone 6s Plus which would be $130 if intact.
Short answer, no. Personally I think they’re more valuable than the trade in credit if intact.

The intact trade in value is more than the cost of repairing the screen.

What? He stated there won't be any value for the iPhone (he is correct) an that they will recycle it for him (also correct)? So what was the point of your reply to him?
I thought it said something else about bringing it in for the estimated value. Might have been thinking of another topic and I didn’t look too close.
