iCloud sharing photos between devices

I have now uploaded my 17,500 photos to ICloud to reduce storage space on my iPhone. Hooray!!!!

However I now see they have copied onto my iPad device as well.

I would like to keep photos taken on the iPhone just on the iPhone (and in iCloud), and the photos taken on the iPad just on the iPad (and in iCloud). Not duplicated.

make sense?

How is do I fix this????

All data in iCloud is synced to all devices/computers signed into iCloud using the same Apple ID. iCloud is a syncing system, not an external hard drive.

For what you want to do, you need a different cloud based solution such as Dropbox, OneDrive, or Flicker.
