Can't get one child to join Apple music family subscription
For some reason this account cannot log into Apple music on any device. Account belongs to a 12 year old and is a member of the family.

These don't seem to solve the problem. The child is a member of family sharing. I think the problem may revolve around a trial version of apple music on the child's account. I can't seem to cancel it if it exists.
