contacts problem macos high sierra

iMessages on my MacBook pro stopped displaying to my contact names. I checked contacts and that also isn't working. My iPad, Iphone and macpro all sync correctly but not the laptop. I tried disconnecting from iCloud and reinstalling the OS with no correction. Any ideas? Thank you in advance

Thanks but unfortunately it didn't fix the problem. I finally found out the source of the problem was in the actual Contacts application. I had enabled synchronization with my Google and Outlook contacts and there is some kind of problem with that. Once I disabled the synchronization to those applications, the Apple Contacts sync'd correctly. Thanks again for your help.
