iPad and GoPro videos

If I get and iPad (either new iPad gen 6 or new iPad Air 3) will I be able to edit and make GoPro videos using iMovie? I use iMovie on my MacBook currently.

Thanks,

Madison

Hello,

Yes, iPad is capable of importing GoPro videos and can be edited in iMovie for iPad. It is a phenomenal setup! I use my iPad exclusively for video editing. You may also want to check out the video editor LumaFusion. iMovie for iPad is very limited in what it can do. LumaFusion is about as good as it gets when it comes to video editing.

Hello,

Like any video files, GoPro files can be large depending on their duration. Additional iCloud storage would only benefit if you import the videos to iCloud Drive. As of this time you can only import the video files in the Photos app on iPad. Apple has announced for iPadOS 13 this fall you can import these video files straight to the Files app, just like how you would on a Macintosh or Windows PC.
