Text messages manager, recommendation request

I've read mixed reviews, so may I ask for recommendations here, please, from those of you who really know.

A good utility ideally which runs on my iMac (macOS… 10.14.6) that will allow me to manage the various text messages I have on my iPhone 8 Plus (12.4).

By 'manage' I mean:

  1. archive/export to separate (text) file
  2. recover a deleted thread
  3. etc.

Thanks in advance for recommendations of safe, reliable and non-intrusive software!

At the law firm I work at we use a utility called Decipher Text Message which works well for our needs. Each month we're required to save all the back and forth text messages we have with clients and keep track of them. I sometimes save personal messages or family stuff too. ;-)

You're welcome. I've used TouchCopy on my Windows computer to archive text messages, voicemail, and a number of other things. I was just reading the other night about using it for importing photos from the iPhone when using Windows 10 because of numerous issues with importing photos with the Photo app in Windows 10. I've not tried that, but I have experienced the problems with Windows 10. Next time I have the chance, I'm going to try it. I have the premium, or paid version, and I appreciate what it can do. I needed that for a number of voicemail messages I wanted to save after a disagreement with a contractor about work around my house. Take care.

I do not understand why for these two simple tasks you are looking for a separate message manager, where as message.app can do much more than what you are looking for.

It can send messages to all your Contacts

It can automatically archive all files or Messages Only

It can print to a file, or to PDF, to Post Script, As web receipts, as Messages

It can send the messages on email

This is the most safe & Reliable

It is non-intrusive because it is a default app built by Apple and is shipped with all Mac
