Device listed twice as being signed in via Apple ID

My MacBook Pro is listed twice as being signed in via Apple ID. I am having problem getting messages to log in, so wondering if this is the problem. Is there a risk in deleting one of the device listings under Apple ID? How should I proceed with this situation?

Anytime something causes a reboot (system crash, power outage, etc.) I get notifications on all my devices that a new Mac is using my Apple ID and Phone Number in Messages. cannot access apple id Both MacBook Air and MacBook Pro repeatedly ask for my password for one of my apple id. However, when I enter the password the process stops, the dialogue boxes go blank, and the timer spins. My apple id is a Gmail account. I am currently accessing through a non-Gmail apple id account. This seems like a hack or malware 'cause it affects both computers. I have not yet seen a request for an apple id password on my iPhone.

OS X Lion - impossibility to log ID When I try to log in with my ID on my iMac, I get a text message with a code that I can't type anywhere in OS X Lion. What does the glorious Apple reply to this ? Does it care about its customers ? It doesn't even offer what OS X is Lion to choose :-) That's support then.

Try signing out of System Preferences/iCloud on the computer and then restart.Then sign out/in where you were seeing it twice. Is the computer still listed? If not, try signing into System Preferences/iCloud and see if the computer is only listed once.
