The first iPhone models that would work with Qi are the iPhone 8/8 Plus and iPhone X. All iPhone models from the iPhone 5 to iPhone 6 only charge via a Lightning cable.

While the iPhone 6S doesn't have built in wireless charging, there are cases available that will allow you to use wireless chargers. I've been using them since I had an iPhone 6. I now have a 7 Plus with a wireless charging case. I think it was about $15 dollars on Amazon.
Quick self correction - that's the iPhone 5 to iPhone 7 series only charging via Lightning. So that would mean the iPhone 5, 5s, 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, 7, and 7 Plus.
