External microphones not working with ipone X lighting connector.

I recently bought video and audio kit from MOVO to record video and audio on my phone. There are at least 4-5 types of mics in this kit, including omnidirectional, shotgun, and wireless lavaliere and not one of them is recognized by my iPhone. No sound capture at all.

My trouble shooting efforts so far have been guided by MOVO. They suggested I try connecting a series of cables to the dangle thing before plugging into the mic.

This did not work.

They suggested trying to record with the voice recorder app (with this series of cables).

That did not work.

At this point they are asking me to send my kit back in to be replaced with a whole new kit of exactly the same kind.

Has anyone else faced this problem; if so, did you find a solution?
