RODE USB NT MINI MIC WITH IPAD PRO 10.5 inch

I am unable to get the new Rose USB Mini Mic to work on IPad Pro 10.5 inch I see the lighting camera adapter and insured it had power. The IPad does not recognize the external mic in the Apple native record app or even in the Rode record app from the Apple store. Ironically though this microphone will work on the iPhone using the same set up. What gives? Thank you
