Why does the ringer volume drop to nothing each time my cars Bluetooth connects to iPhone X? Even when manually turned up, volume zeros out with one touch of the vehicles volume control.

The problem is that if I don’t remember to turn the volume back up each time I get out of the car, I miss phone (work) calls. Can this auto volume drop feature be turned off? Why can’t it leave my ringer volume where I have it when I get in the car?
Thanks for the info, but that’s not the topic of this thread. We’re talking about pairing to Bluetooth in a car and the volume goes down.
It fixed my problem of the car turning my phone volume down after disconnecting my Bluetooth from the vehicle or shutting the vehicle off

It appears, after limited testing, that whatever update just added Alexa to my Cadillac CUE MAY HAVE also solved this issue. I will keep testing and report back.

This is happening to me with Bluetooth and CarPlay both. As soon as it connects, the volume bar drops to ZERO. After exiting the vehicle, it stays on ZERO. Why is this?
This is what is happening to me and the 2nd user for the WiFi and Bluetooth in my 2020 Chevy Traverse. It’s never happened before.
Apple is wrong. It happens to 1 of 3 phones we connected to the car. If it was an issue with the vehicle, it would happen to all phones connected
Just an update, the “fix” that Mark suggested has worked on my iPhone X so far. Drove the Edge a couple of times yesterday and the phone’s ringer remained on after exiting the vehicle.
Same thing with my iPhone in Buick & can’t always remember to adjust louder when I get out of car & then miss calls. Driving me crazy

I’m the one who got your hopes up about 13.6 update. Today I’m also back to having same problem. I agree with some others. Can’t Apple at least acknowledge the problem and give us hope for a fix?
