App icons for Messenger, Google World and Uber stay dark and do not update. I have tried to open the dark waiting icon, but it does not budge. Only these apps remain dark. When I open App Store, Update appears, but with no apps listed below. I will appreciate any help offered.

I see you are facing some difficulty in updating a specific set of 3rd party apps. The most common fix with this type of issue will be to delete the apps in question and then try re-downloading them from the App Store.
