iPad storage versus iCloud stoage

My iPad storage is full. I bought 50GB of iCloud storage and am only using 5.2GB of it.

I continued to be full on my iPad storage and have to manage it.

I'm not sure what advantage it was to buy the extra storage. Is there a way I should be better managing the two? Thanks

iPad storage is not the same as iCloud storage.
