How can I make it to where I can create and edit in Microsoft word on a MacBook and PC using a portable hard drive? I just purchased my MacBook yesterday and the salesman at BestBuy told me that this could be done, but I can’t figure it out. HELP...thanks!!!

Yes, my portable hard drive is formatted as NTFS. I am not tech savvy by any means and I have no I dead how to reformat.
Maybe exFAT on a USB flash drive? I use a USB flash drive myself for sharing data. The drive was exFAT formatted out of the package. Those are usually more convenient.
