F function keys not working on wireless keyboard

Your problem can be interpreted 2 ways: they don’t function at all or they don’t function as expected. See below:

The function keys perform double duty. By default they perform specialized duty like changing the sound volume or brightness of the display. Holding the function key (on the left bottom corner) lets them operate as a normal function key with applications that use them that way. This can be reversed in System Preferences.
