I previously experienced issues with my Macbook Pro Mid 2012 where after I logged in the screen went black. I purchased a new Macbook Pro 2019 and now would like to transfer files from the Macbook Pro mid 2012 to my Macbook Pro 2019. Please advise on the most effective and efficient way on how to accomplish this. Thank you.
If you boot the MacBook Pro Mid 2012 into the Safe Mode, does the screen go black?
If it works in the Safe Mode, try running this program when booted normally and then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor. Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. I already have a new Mac. The issue is when I log into the mid2012 Mac, it goes immediately to a black screen.. So, as you can see I need to be able to transfer the data from the hard drive either to the new Macbook or to an external drive.
