Mail in iCloud grayed out in windows 10

I have successfully installed the latest version of ICloud on my windows 10 machine; no errors. When I sign into my iCloud account all functions but email, which is grayed out. How do I solve this? I have reinstalled iCloud for windows 3-times all with no errors and still the email grayed out persistence.
