Can you set up two-factor authentication if you only have one iPhone and no other device?

I have a friend I want to send money to via Apple Pay Cash. She has a new enough iPhone, but doesn't have an iPad or any other device that codes can be sent to. Can she still set up two-factor authentication and receive Apple Pay cash from me?

She's not very tech savvy (at all), but may have an old PC in the mix, but I'd rather not go there if we don't have to.

Thanks,

Mick

Yes, you can. The two-factor authentication codes can be set up to be sent as SMS messages or audio calls to non Apple phones and even landlines.

Trusted phone numbers

A trusted phone number is a number that can be used to receive verification codes by text message or automated phone call. You must verify at least one trusted phone number to enroll in two-factor authentication.

You should also consider verifying an additional phone number you can access, such as a home phone, or a number used by a family member or close friend. You can use this number if you temporarily can't access your primary number or your own devices.

Thanks for the information! Problem may be, that she likely does not have a landline. I don't want to make her life more complex than necessary and just thought that Apple Pay Cash would be easy. I've had others set it up (our house cleaner, for example) and there wasn't a bump.

I wonder what the easiest solution is here... If she just had a freakin' iPad it would be easier! Hmm...
