Liquid Damage to Macbook Air

I spilled coffee on my macbook and now the screen is black. When I restart the computer I hear the ding, but that's it. Is there anything I can do?

Your best path forward is to stop using your notebook immediately, and then, make a Genius Bar appointment at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider to have them take a look and provide you with your options.

Further use of your notebook could cause additional damage. Also placing your notebook in a desiccant, like rice, will not help as any residue (sugar/creamer, etc.) will remain after the liquid evaporates and can still cause a short circuit. Unfortunately, Apple does not cover liquid damage in their one year warranty. However, if you elected to purchase AppleCare+ when you bought your notebook, it may be covered under one of the two "accidental" incident issues at a reduced cost.
