My iphone XR takes photos that are often far too warm - they look like a glamor shots picture from the 1980s. My wifes XR takes the same photo and it looks perfect.
Is this is software or hardware issue? Any suggestions for fixing it short of going to the apple store?

After about an hour on the phone with Apple, that was the suggestion. But I am surprised that would be the solution as I was running IOS 12.1. I just updated to 12.4, but I thought that the 12.4 version was just a security patch.
I need to check it some more, but I think that this is all part of the so-called skin-smoothing AI that apple uses for photos that sense a face.
