Strange processes in activity monitor...
Since updating my Macbook Pro (2017) to Mojave, I have these strange processes chewing up memory like crazy. I even had a notification saying I had run out of application memory.

Since updating my Macbook Pro (2017) to Mojave, I have these strange processes chewing up memory like crazy. I even had a notification saying I had run out of application memory.

Sounds like you might have picked up some adware/malware. Try Malwarebytes and see if it can find anything.
Command click on the process and see what files it is using. It is possible it is something harmless like Spotlight rebuilding its index and consuming lots of cpu.
