Mac OS 10.14.5 Safari will not maintain auto-play

When logged onto a music link, Safari presents a little window with instructions on how enable auto-play. Carefully follow instructions to enable auto-play "Allow all Auto-Play", however, the window keeps appearing.

Occasionally, it will play properly ...no indication of why.

What is up?

Try setting up another admin user account in System Preferences/Users & Groups to see if the same problem continues. Please post back on whether or not this worked. Also try the Safe Mode. Please post back on whether or not this worked.

Safe Mode - About

If it works in the Safe Mode, try running this program when booted normally and then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor.  Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown. If the log won’t post, try posting it in Pastebin and provide a link in a reply. After pasting the report in a PasteBin page, go to the top of the page, and copy the address in the URL bar. Paste that in a new reply.        Pastebin

Thanks, Eric. "Settings for this website: Allow all auto-play".

I have set this and rebooted Safari as suggested, and often (not always, weirdly), the alert window appears again. When checking the settings yet again, it is still on Allow all auto-play.

Intermittent problems are always the hardest to track down. Any ideas?

Safari version 12.1.1

Yes, Eric ....it is my husband's machine that is giving us grief. We uninstalled CleanMyMac ....did not solve the auto-play problem. So I downloaded the Amazon Music app on his computer ...works great. Now he can listen to his music while he works.

Booting up still takes a minute and a half ....but I think the problem probably lies in the two users on that machine. The story of how that happened it WAY too long, and not worth the effort. Both users are Admin, and it looks like they are playing nicely and sharing his important programs. However, I believe it just takes a while for the computer to sort that out as it boots up.

Any further thoughts on that ....or should we just turn it on and get coffee?
