It will not connect to person it was previously connected

I have done all of that but it still does not work, so I suspect there is a wider issue at large here and I have an appt at my local Apple store genius bar on Monday morning so could update this thread when I get home.
Both parties must have the latest software updates on their iPhones and Watches and their FaceTime must be activated.
Try removing the other person from your Contacts....then adding the person back. If that doesn't work proceed to your appointment.
It doesn't help Julieda, but thank you for your input.
I have even tried un-pairing my Apple watch then re-pairing it as a new watch but that didn't work either.
