Cannot Import Mp4 Files

Recently my MacBook has not been able to import my mp4 video files from my Cannon camera saying that the "this operation couldn't be completed"

Why won't it import these files now? I didn't have problems before

Why can I do to fix this/get my files imported?? HELP PLEASE!

Camcorder Not showing in "import" via iMovie Hi - I have my camcorder connected to my MacBook Pro via usb - I want to transfer some old videos. I open up iMovie, click import and the camera won't show up. Its on, etc. I remember doing this years ago and it worked flawlessly. Im stumped and hoping someone can help me.

iMovie: any .mov, .mp4 files are grey and can't be imported anymore? Good morning, for some reason I can't import .mov or .mp4 files anymore to iMovie. They are grey and can't be selected. When I double click the files, I also get a QuickTime Player error message "This file ist not compatible with QuickTime Player". In external apps like VLC I can watch the movies without problems. --> This happens since the "Device Support Update" for BigSur on Sept. 30th, 2021 Could someone please check the issue? Am I the only one with the problems? MacBook Air 2016 MacOS Big Sur 11.6 iMovie 10.2.5

Try using Image Capture to download the video files to a folder on the Desktop. Then see if you can import from there into the Photos library.

Next, boot into Safe Mode and try from there. Reboot normally and test again.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 10 minutes as it's doing some system cache cleaning, volume verifying and directory repairing.
