Your disk could not be partitioned. Win10 Bootcamp on High Sierra MBP 2018

HI,


I need help as I am a new Mac user and trying to install Windows using Boot Camp Assistant. However I am not able to success since it gives me the error : disk could not be partitioned.

I have tried ran the first aid in disk utility, command + s and type /sbin/fsck -fy, reinstall my macOS and still didn't working to me.


Any help will be very much appreciated!

thank for your information, but i already fix this with erase all partition on my macbook and reinstall macOS, and finally i can create bootcamp

You have a failed BC Assistant execution leaving partitions in a confused state, which it will clean up in some cases. In your specific case, given the current state, try


  • Step 1


diskutil eraseVolume jhfs+ BC1 disk0s3

diskutil eraseVolume jhfs+ BC2 disk0s4


diskutil mergePartitions jhfs+ BCMP disk0s3 disk0s4

diskutil list


  • Step 2


If you see only disk0s3 as the last entry under disk0, then run


diskutil eraseVolume fat32 BOOTCAMP disk0s3


and retry removing the partition using BC Assistant only.
