plantronics voyager UC8200 bluetooth headset

I see a problem when using plantronics UC 8200 headset connected to macbook pro and my android phone at the same time. Though, plantronics says, dual connectivity is allowed, I cannot hear any sound/audio on my android phone when it is connected to macbook. The audio media/call option works on macbook perfectly. Now, the workaround I saw was to, go under sound settings on macbook pro and change the input sound setting to "macbook pro speakers" from plantronics headset setting. This way, both the macbook pro laptop and android can play music, audio works well. But I assume, mic option would not work on headset due to this option.

Has anyone seen such an issue before? Any solutions? It works on windows machines without any issue.
