Is my Apple watch swimmable?

Here's what I do:

1. when in the pool, start the workout app and swim
2. when done swimming, I turn the dial to clear the water
3. swipe right to stop the swim timer

Is that correct process?

On a second question, if you don't mind, I recently (two days ago) used my AppleWatch app on my iPhone to delete all but one watch face. I only need the time and weather and not a bunch of other info on a regular basis. Since I did that, my watch does not keep a battery charge for longer than 8 or 10 hours. Before I eliminated the faces, my watch seemed to be good for almost two days without charging. I'm getting 100% charge indication on my watch. I charge it overnight for at least 9 hours every day. Any ideas about the battery life issue?

I've swam a couple of times with my watch. It seems the face is not sensing finger swipes when it's wet. I have a hard time turning the timer off and ending the swim tracking. How do I stop the timer and end the swim session while I am still in the pool?

I tried that but I had difficulty getting to the tear drop because the screen was wet.
