screen stays on

Whenever i get a notification or i am on a call, most of the time the screen stays on after that. it doesnt seem to go off even tho autolock is set on the phone and i am not looking at the phone too.

not sure whats the issue

It can be the proximity sensor next to the front camera

Try to force restart- https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201412
If 1. not resolved reset settings
if still no joy restore via itunes and setup as new
if still no joy-appoitment in apple store or aasp to diagnose Your device
