Connect usb c monitor and charge at the same time

Hi all,

i have a 2017 MacBook and I’ve purchased an ASUS MB16AC usb c portable monitor, the monitor works great when connected but when the battery goes and I need to charge the MacBook I can’t use the monitor as there’s only one usb c socket.

is there a solution to this? I.e a usb c hub that allows usb c output to the macbook to multiple usb c input including supporting a power adapter to charge the laptop at the same time? I can’t seem to find one anywhere?

Maybe I can help you. Yes, you do need multiple Usb-C sockets. and yes, usb-c will give you usb 3, hdmi as well .. Hubs with more than 2 usb-c sockets do not exist, YET. --so I've read. The chips to make this happen might be available in 2020. For now, try this: it has 2 usb-c sockets. unfortunately, it's $250.
