Macbook pro 13 inch 1.4ghz & 2.4ghz

I’ve read so many conflicting thoughts and analysis of the new “base” 1.4GHz MacBook Pro when compared to the more expensive, few weeks old, 2.4GHz model.

My hope is that this thread can give a comprehensive list of the pros and cons of each, and offer advice for which one suits a given person.

Another question :by the time you upgrade the processor & storage on the 2TB model, the price is the same as the base 4TB model, yet you have a questionable improvement in processor (is 1.7GHz i7 better than 2.4 GHz i5?)

Amazon - M1 CPU speed spec for Mac Mini correct? I'm interested in buying an M1 Mac mini with 16GB memory in Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Apple-Mini-Chip-256GB-Storage/dp/B08TDNXTVK However, CPU speed is listed as "1.00", with no units. I expected a rating in GHz. Is that a typo? Or a "normalization" to other baseline? I already asked on Amazon (got no answer) and searched similar 16GB models, but can't find the CPU speed listed in GHz. Also note that searching for the 8 GB model shows the correct speed rating (3.2GHz). Not so for the 16GB one. Thanks.

Old versus new Does it make sense to buy the newest Apple MacBook Pro 16" - 2.4GHz 8‑core Intel Core i9, Turbo Boost up to 5.0GHz, with 16MB shared L3 cache when I currently have a MacBook Pro 2018 (Sep 2018) 2.9 GHz Intel Core i9? Will I see enough of a change for an additional 2,500$ after trade in? Pros and cons appreciated.
