quicktime player freezing video

When trying to shoot a video from my MacBook Air, it freezes the video between 10-25 minutes from starting the recording. Is there an update I'm missing or something I can do to trouble shoot, I've already tried restarting my computer.

mov files created in screenshot toolbar app will not play in Quicktime player This started happening recently on my 2022 Mac Studio. I regularly use the screenshot toolbar app to capture video and audio of what's happening on my desktop. Screenshot creates a .mov which I normally don't have any issues playing. Now, for some reason, when I open the screenshot created .mov file, it will open but will not play, it's frozen right at the start. Interestingly I can still use my mac's "preview" app and the video will play without issue. Also, it will play the same .mov’s video and audio in VLC. I am suspecting this a codec issue. The .mov files created by screenshot are using H.264 for video compression and MPEG-4 AAC, 44100 Hz for the audio which both seem quite normal to me.

iMovie freeze I want to add a blurred background to a vertical video. Importing the blurred version of the video and adding it to the timeline is no problem. Playing the blurred video on its own is no issue either. The problem occurs when I add the original video on top of the blurred one in the timeline and want to play it. I use vlc to convert the original video into a blurred version. These are the settings I use for the conversion. No error notification or anything. Total freeze. Codec: H.264 Bitrate: 100000 Frame rate: 30 Width: 64 File format: .mp4 I already did a full factory reset of my macbook pro. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

YouTube videos will not play-error message I am wondering if this indicates some problem with Quicktime. (MacBook Pro) Quicktime shows a change made on Jue 9, 2020 that I did not make. Youtube suggests many fixes, but they are not the issue. When I click on the Quicktime icon, I get a blank screen. Is this normal? Thanks, Cindy Cunningham

I understand from your post that when recording a video with QuickTime that the recording freezing after 10-25 mins. I recommend testing the issue while your Mac is in safe mode and/or in a new user account. This will help determine the cause of the issue.
