iPod 4th Generation

I have a iPod 4th generation that I wanted to turn on and look at some old pictures after being dead for a while. I plugged it in and it was starting to boot up. Once the Apple logo was on the screen for 10 seconds a white screen appeared and then proceeded to go back to the Apple logo that you get when you turn it on. Then that same sequence just kept repeating. First I tried a force restart and that didn't do anything. Then I put the iPod into recovery mode and tried to restore it with iTunes and it would start to restore then just randomly when its about to restore the iPod it disconnects from the computer and gives me "Unknow error code 9." Anyone know what could be possibly done to fix this? Thanks
