iTunes questions (iMac)

(1) how do I find out how many songs are in my iTunes Library?

I can see all of the songs. But, there is no count as to how many songs.

(2) I have 5 playlists. How do I do a side-by-side comparison to see what songs are where?

(3) Under the heading, Devices, MUSIC, what does the little dotted circle mean next to the checkmark?

.... These songs where purchased on iTunes.

  1. The status bar appears at the bottom of the iTunes window. If you don't see it View > Show Status Bar should reveal it, assuming it isn't hiding off screen.
  2. Right-click the name of a playlist in the side bar and use Open in New Window.
  3. A screenshot might help clarify what you are referring to here, but if if you're seeing dotted circles against content that is supposed to be synced to a device then see this post on erratic syncing.
