SMB negotiation failed

Hello - any assistance would be greatly appreciated...

Yesterday I obtained a new IPAD. I have a Synology NAS Diskstation at home and want to access files on it, from my new Ipad. I successfully installed both 'DS File' and 'Chunky Comic Reader' yesterday - and both could locate the NAS on the home network ok, and I could log on fine with my credentials and access my NAS files. Happy days!

Today I have switched on the new ipad and neither App can access the NAS any more. :-( 'DS File' just sits forever 'logging on' - and 'Chunky Comic Reader' gives an error message: 'SMB negotiation failed'.

I have made no changes to the NAS ir IPAD since yesterday. I have tried switching off/on both devices and still no luck. My OLD Ipad and every other device I possess can still access the NAS without any issues.

Anyone got any idea why I can no longer access my NAS on my brand new IPAD? It's immensely frustrating. Many thanks in advance for any guidance provided.

Hello,

It is quite difficult to troubleshoot this kind of problem. The problem could be with your iPad’s wireless antennas, your router, your modem, your server hardware, your server software, the iPad’s application, or a handful of other things. I suggest trying to restart your NAS to see if this resolves your problem. If it does not then I suggest reaching out to the application's developers for assistance.
