Phone screen stuck in restore mode

The home button would not work for anything, so I decided to use passcode only. However, the phone kept giving me the wrong passcode message even though it was the right one. After a lot of frustration, I decided to try and do a factory reset/restore of the phone. While doing this, the phone got stuck in the restore mode (black screen showing itunes logo with the arrow showing where plug should be" I can't turn off phone or do anything else. I just bought the phone in April.
