Downloading XCode

I am trying to download xcode. During the download I accidentally clicked on the xcode icon which had appeared on Launcher. The downloading changed to 'Waiting'. I was not able get it out of the 'Waiting' state. So, using Finder, I deleted the app.

All files are gone but a ghost image of Xcode remains on Launcher. I can move the image around but that's all. I am unable to restart the download the from the App store. How do I get out of this small mess? Thanks.
